Al-Chibayish is a Wetland City in Dhi Qar Governorate and in Iraq with the presence of marshes, the network of streams and waterways, the economics of water, the uses of reeds, and traditional fishing methods. The marshes provide an important geographical location for the sustainability of highly diverse ecosystem services

It is located at the downstream of the Tigris and Euphrates, and Maim out full drain canal (M .O .D) flows at its western borders, which are giant water drain canal. Each of the Central Marsh and Western Hammar Marsh recorded are among the Ramsar wetland sites and world Heritage list sites, and are important sites for migratory birds, endemic birds, fish, and buffalo breeding.

The Office for Projects Implementation of Centre of restoration for Iraqi Marshes and Wetlands (CRIMW) in Chibayish represents an important role in raising awareness of the importance of preserving wetlands, their wise use, and their sustainability.

The presence and attendance of civil society organizations such as the Nature Iraq Organization and the Chibayish Ecotourism Organization contributed in multiple aspects to defending the marshes and spreading awareness of their importance and introducing them.

It is one of the most famous eco-tourism destinations in the Republic of Iraq during the spring and winter. The reed houses, the way of housing and lifestyle, transportation by boats and traditional cuisine constitute a means of attracting tourism.
